Facebook - Please convince me

So since my previous post I have been dabbling in Facebook. It's beginning to grow on me, but the thought of having another thing I need to keep up to date with scares me. It's great to find friends you haven't heard from for ever, but after the initial 'poke' are you expected to daily interactions? What constitutes being rude in these communities?

I did enjoy this post @ Web Worker Daily. It seems that I am not the only one with reservations about this platform.

Now readers, convince me to the contrary.

The beauty of facebook is that you don't have to do anything. It updates itself - you can feed your blog, or post items (like del.icio.us), so your friends can see what you're up to without you having to do anything. Plus they have no excuse for missing your birthday.

Hey Walton,
I hear your point, the problem is you still have one more place to sign in, check and, if you are polite I guess, respone.
Having said all that, Eishman is getting hooked nonetheless.
